OATMEAL SCONES 
3/4 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. unsalted butter
2/3 c. oatmeal
1/3 c. raisins
1 c. buttermilk

In large bowl, combine the flours; add baking soda, baking powder, salt and sugar. Cut butter into mixture until it resembles bread crumbs. Stir in oatmeal and raisins. Slowly stir in buttermilk until dough forms large moist clumps.

Turn dough out onto lightly floured board and knead 1-2 minutes to form a ball. Roll dough out and cut into triangles. Bake in top third of preheated 375 degree oven for 20-25 minutes. Serves 12-14.
