BEST EVER CHOCOLATE PIE 
3 eggs, separated
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa
Pinch of salt
1 tbsp. (heaping) cornstarch
1 c. milk
1 tbsp. melted butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (9 inch) baked pie shell

MERINGUE:

3 egg whites
7 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat egg yolks until light colored. Mix sugar, cocoa, salt and cornstarch together and add this mixture alternately with the milk to the egg yolks. Beat well and add butter. Cook in a heavy sauce pot, over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture is thick. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour into baked pie shell and cover with meringue. Bake at 350 degrees until meringue is golden brown.
