SOUTH AMERICAN COFFEE CAKE 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 heaping tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. cooking oil (scant, not quite a cup)

Mix together. Take out 1 cup mixture for topping. To remainder add: 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 2 well beaten eggs

Mix thoroughly with flour mixture; spread in lightly oiled pan (can use two 11 x 7 x 1 1/2).

TOPPING:

3/4 c. finely chopped nuts
2 tsp. cinnamon

Add to cup of first mixture reserved. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes until it springs back or is done.
