MEAT LOAF, BARBECUE STYLE | |
1 1/2 lb. ground beef 1 c. soft bread crumbs 1 onion, finely chopped 1 egg, slightly beaten 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 2 tbsp. water 3 tbsp. vinegar 3 tbsp. brown sugar, finely packed 2 tbsp. prepared mustard 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce Combine beef, bread crumbs, onion, egg, salt, pepper and 1/2 can of the tomato sauce. To mold, press into a 4 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch loaf pan. Loosen with a knife and unmold in a shallow pan. Combine the remaining tomato sauce, water, vinegar, brown sugar, mustard and Worcestershire sauce; pour over loaf. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Makes 6 servings. |
