GERMAN CHOCOLATE PIE 
1/4 stick butter
1 oz. square unsweetened chocolate
3/4 tsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cornstarch
1 c. sugar
1 egg
3/4 c. evaporated milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 c. flaked coconut
1/4 c. chopped nuts
1 unbaked pie shell
Ice cream or whipped cream for topping

Melt chocolate and butter over low heat. Mix flour, cornstarch, sugar and salt. Beat in egg. Add melted chocolate mixture and mix until smooth. Gradually add milk and vanilla. Beat until well mixed and creamy. Sprinkle nuts and coconut on bottom of pie shell and pour in chocolate mixture. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes or until brown and fairly firm. Allow to cool.
