MINT SURPRISE COOKIES 
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
16 oz. chocolate mint wafers (not filled mints)
nut halves (optional)

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Cream butter, add sugars, eggs, water and vanilla extract.

Sift flour with soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture a little at a time, beating on low. Chill dough. Wrap 2 mints in dough to cover. Put walnut or pecan half on top.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.

Yield: 8 dozen.
