CHERRY NUT BREAD 
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
2 c. PLAIN flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. chopped pecans
1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, butter (melted) and eggs; add flour, a little at a time. Fold in baking soda, salt and buttermilk. Chop pecans finely, drain cherries and chop finely. Add cherries, pecans and vanilla to mixture. Pour into loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes.
