SWISS STEAK MOZZARELLA 
2 lbs. round steak, 1/2 inch thick
2 oz. butter
1 (1 lb.) can Italian tomatoes
1/2 c. chopped onion (1)
1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
1/2 c. dry red wine
1 1/2 tsp. salt & pepper to taste
1/2 tsp. sweet basil

Sprinkle steak with flour, dry basil, salt and pepper. Cut steak into pieces and pound between wax paper. Melt butter in casserole or skillet that can be covered. Brown meat on all sides. Add tomatoes and wine. Simmer covered for 1 hour. Then add onions and green pepper. Cook 1/2 hour more until meat is tender. Put a slice of Mozzarella on each serving piece and put under broiler until melted and bubbly.
