FIG CAKE 
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. cooking oil
1 c. sugar
2 c. plain flour
3 eggs
1 c. pecans
1 c. preserved figs
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift dry ingredients. Mix sugar, oil and eggs, one at a time. Mix buttermilk and dry ingredients with figs and nuts. Mix all together, then bake for 1 hour at 300 degrees. Can be baked in greased and floured tube pan or 2 loaf pans. Serves 10-12.
