FIG CAKE 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. oil
3 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. fig preserves
1 c. pecans
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together the dry ingredients. Add oil, eggs, buttermilk, figs and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Let stay in pan until iced. Ice while hot.

ICING:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. white Karo
1 tsp. baking soda
1 stick butter

Boil all together 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour over hot cake.
