MEXICALI CASSEROLE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 tsp. salt
1/2 to 1 tbsp. pepper (black)
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 pkg. chili seasoning mix
1 (16 oz.) can chili beans, drained
1/2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 (8 oz.) bag corn chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Saute beef and onion, drain fat. Add salt, pepper, tomatoes, tomato sauce and chili mix. Cook, uncovered, over medium heat for 30 minutes. Add chili beans and pour into a 2 quart casserole. Top with cheese and corn chips. Bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes. Yield: 6 servings.
