CONTINENTAL FROSTING 
5 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. shortening

Cook flour and milk on low until thick. Add salt and cool completely. Cream remaining ingredients together. Combine the two mixtures, beating until the sugar is thoroughly dissolved.
