NORWEGIAN STOLLEN - COLD BUTTER 
1 lb. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar plus 2 tbsp.
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 drops almond flavoring
1 lemon rind
1/2 tsp. mace
2 eggs
1 1/2 sticks butter
1/2 lb. cottage cheese
1/2 lb. raisins
1/4 lb. hazel nuts
1 c. citrus fruit

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Put flour and baking powder in large bowl. Make hole in middle and put in sugar, all spices and eggs. Mix together.

Add cheese, then everything BUT butter. When all mixed, add butter in small pieces. Then turn dough and add rest of butter in small pieces. Knead. If dough does not stay together, add a little milk.

Cut dough into three portions. Roll dough oblong, fold in half to form half moon and bake on ungreased cookie sheet. While cake is still hot, melt butter and brush over cake, sprinkle granulated sugar.
