1 c. sugar
1 c. salad dressing or mayonnaise
1/2 c. cocoa
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. hot water

Mix together sugar and salad dressing. Add dry ingredients to mixture. Mix baking soda into hot water. Add to previously mixed ingredients. Mix until smooth and creamy. Add vanilla when batter is smooth. Batter will be heavy. Place in 1 large pan or 2 layer pans. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 45 to 50 minutes. Test with tester, straw or toothpick. Cake will be dark and rich. Frost. White frosting is excellent with it.
