SPECIAL CORNBREAD 
1 c. cornmeal
3/4 c. unbleached flour
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
1/3 c. dark Karo syrup
1/4 c. vegetable oil

Sift together in bowl, flour, salt and baking powder. Add meal and mix good. In separate bowl beat the egg. Add milk, syrup and oil. Mix real good. Add to dry ingredients and mix real good. Pour into greased skillet and cook at 425 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
