BLACK WALNUT CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 sticks butter, softened to room temperature
2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted and measured (or 2 c. unsifted flour minus 2 tbsp.)
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. black walnuts
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 tsp. vanilla extract
5 lg. eggs or 6 med. eggs

Drop each ingredient into an electric mixer bowl in the order given. Beat at high speed for 5 minutes. Pour into greased and floured 10 inch tube pan and bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Don't chop the nuts in advance, the mixer will do it for you.
