PUMPKIN BREAD IN A JAR 
8 wide mouth pint jars with lids

Coat jars to the top with shortening

2/3 c. Crisco
2 2/3 c. sugar
2/3 c. water
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
4 eggs
2 c. canned pumpkin
3 1/2 c. flour
2/3 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves

Cream Crisco and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Combine all dry ingredients, add with water and pumpkin. Fold in nuts. Fill prepared jars half full. Bake in oven at 325 degrees for 45 minutes.

Take from oven, clean off rim of jar and place caps and rings. In a few minutes, you will hear a pop as the lids seal. This is good to take camping.
