IRISH SODA SCONES 
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
4 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. raisins
3/4 c. sour milk (milk + 1 tbsp. vinegar)

Sift dry ingredients, add raisins, and work in shortening with fingers. Add milk and knead. Roll out and cut into rounds 1/2 inch thick. Place in greased pan and bake 30 minutes at 375 degrees. Serve warm with butter and jam.
