INDIAN FRY BREAD 
2 c. flour
2 tbsp. shortening or butter
3 tsp. baking powder
Dash of salt
3/4 to 1 c. warm water, enough to make a soft dough

Cut shortening into flour; add baking powder and salt. Mix, add water and mix again. Knead dough on floured surface. Divide into 12 balls, roll out to 1/8 inch thick. Fry in 1 inch hot oil, turning once. Fry until golden.
