1 c. lukewarm water 1 pkg. yeast 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. sugar 2 tbsp. salad oil 3 1/2 c. flour FILLING: 6 slices ham 6 slices Swiss cheese 6 slices Provolone cheese Hot peppers (optional) 1/4 lb. pepperoni, sliced 1 lg. Spanish onion 1 lg. tomato Oregano 1 green pepper 3 mushrooms (small) To prepare dough: dissolve yeast in water. Add sugar, salt, oil and 2 cups of flour. Mix well. Knead in remaining 1 1/2 cups flour. Knead until dough is easy to handle. Place in greased bowl and let rise until doubled. Punch down and divide into 2 equal parts. Roll each into 12 x 8 inch rectangle. To prepare filling: Lightly saute peppers, onions and mushrooms. Add remaining ingredients. Place half of filling on half of one rectangle. Fold remaining half of rectangle over and seal edges. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Repeat process to make second one. Instead of making your own dough, use 2 frozen bread loaves, thawed, and rolled into 12 x 18 inch rectangles. Enjoy!! |
