4 c. peeled, chopped apples
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 c. flour (1 c. whole wheat can be used)
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Combine above ingredients in a large bowl. Then add:

1/2 c. oil
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Spread in lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes or until cake pulls away from sides of pan. Cool in pan on rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or frost with cream cheese frosting.

CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:

1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 1/4 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/8 c. crushed pineapple
1/4 c. chopped walnuts

Mix in order well.
