AMARETTO BREAD CUSTARD 
1 loaf Italian bread
3 eggs
1 1/2 qts. half and half
3/4 c. white raisins
3/4 c. slivered almonds
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. almond extract
2 tbsp. unsalted butter

SAUCE:

8 tbsp. unsalted butter
1 c. powdered sugar
1 egg, well beaten
4 tbsp. Amaretto

Cube bread and soak in milk. Grease baking pan with 2 tablespoons butter. Combine remaining ingredients with bread. Bake 50 minutes at 325 degrees.

In double boiler, cook sauce ingredients until blended; remove from heat. Add eggs slowly and amaretto. Cut squares of custard, cover with sauce, put under broiler until it bubbles. Serve.
