PIE CRUST (SINGLE) 
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
3 tbsp. ice water

Mix flour, salt and shortening until mealy with shortening thoroughly mixed and form balls size of peas. Gradually add in water. Form in soft ball and roll out crust size of pie pan.

Be sure to roll out on lightly floured board. Bake at 425 degrees until browned for pudding pies with meringue. (It is not necessary to prebake custard type pie shells i.e. pumpkin, custards.) Double recipe for fruit or double crusted pies.
