MARINADE FOR BARBECUE 
2 cloves garlic, sliced
1/4 c. sliced onion
1 tsp. coriander
1/8 tsp. ground cumin
1/8 tsp. turmeric
1/2 c. water with 1/2 tsp. salt
1 salam leaf
1 piece laos
1 tbsp. peanut or corn oil
1 tsp. tamarind, dissolved in 1 tbsp. water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sugar

Use 1/2 pound sirloin or steak in 2" cubes. Mix all together then add the meat. Stir and mix well with meat covered well with marinade. Let sit overnight in refrigerator. Baste with extra marinade while barbecuing. Very good!
