1 1/2 c. water with desired coloring
1/2 c. salt
2 tbsp. alum
1 1/2 tbsp. cooking oil
2 1/2 c. flour

Heat water and salt to a bubble but DO NOT boil. Stir in alum and cooking oil. Add the flour. Knead until smooth.
