PECAN BARS 
1 c. shortening
2 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar

Mix until crumbly. Pat in 9 x 13 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

TOPPING:

5 eggs, beaten
1 c. white sugar
1 c. white Karo syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. pecans

Mix and pour over crust. Bake at 275 degrees until set, about 35 to 45 minutes.
