BABY RUTH BARS 
4 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. light corn syrup
2/3 c. butter, melted
1/4 c. crunchy peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1/2 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch chips
2/3 c. crunchy peanut butter
1 c. salted peanuts

Mix oatmeal, brown sugar and syrup. Pour butter over, then stir. Mix in 1/4 cup peanut butter and the vanilla. Then pat into 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes.

Melt chocolate and butterscotch chips, stir in 2/3 cup peanut butter and peanuts. Spread over baked cookies. Cool.

I start melting the chips before I do the other; takes a long time to melt (at least for me). It do it over low heat. Then I chop the peanuts. Takes awhile for the topping to "set." If it still doesn't set well, I put it in refrigerator for a few minutes. Bars don't need to be in refrigerator. Grease pan good.
