1 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/3 c. water 6 c. oats 1 (12 oz.) jar wheat germ 1/2 c. whole wheat flour 1 tsp. salt 1 c. vegetable oil 2 tsp. vanilla Dissolve sugar in the water and boil for 1 minute, cool slightly. Mix dry ingredients thoroughly. Warm the oil slightly and add 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Mix warm syrup and remaining vanilla. Pour syrup and oil over dry ingredients. Stir well. Put into 2 greased shallow baking dishes and spread evenly. Bake at 200 degrees for 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until moisture is absorbed and cereal feels dry. It should be a rich golden brown. |
