LARGE BATCH SUGAR COOKIES 
5 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 cup butter
1 cup oil
2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
3 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. baking soda

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Beat together butter, oil and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.

Sift dry ingredients together onto a sheet of wax paper and gradually add to the liquid mixture, blending well.

Roll dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Place on greased or parchment-lined cookie sheets and flatten with bottom of small glass dipped in sugar.

Bake in preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned on edges.

Makes about 5 dozen.
