CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS 
One large chicken, boiled with salt to taste until very tender. Keep covered with water in order to have enough broth for dumplings.

DUMPLINGS:

2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
2 eggs, beaten
1 tbsp. Crisco

Mix above ingredients together with enough water or chicken broth (about 1 cup). Add enough flour to mix and turn out on floured board, roll thin as possible and cut in long strips about 1 or 2 inches long. Drop in boiling chicken a few at a time. Cover and cook slowly until well done.
