CHERRY MALTED COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. flour
2/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. instant chocolate malted milk powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
1/2 c. shortening
2 tbsp. maraschino cherry juice
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. chopped maraschino cherries, drained

In large bowl combine all ingredients except cherries. Blend well with mixer. Stir in cherries and mix thoroughly. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 375 degrees. Cool. Makes 30 to 36 cookies.
