PEANUT-SITTING-PRETTIES 
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 egg, separated
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
Finely chopped nuts
Shredded coconut
Confectioners' sugar icing
M & M's peanut chocolate candies

Cream butter and sugar. Stir in egg yolk and vanilla. Sift flour and salt; add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Using about 1 teaspoon dough, roll into 1" balls. Dip each ball into slightly beaten egg white. Roll in chopped nuts or coconut. Place 1" apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and quickly press thumb gently on top of each. Bake for 5 minutes longer. Cool. Fill thumbprints with icing. Top with candy. Makes 2 dozen.
