1 1/2 lbs. ground beef 2 tbsp. grated onion 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. dried marjoram leaves, crushed 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 env. brown gravy mix 1 (3 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained 3 tbsp. dry red wine, optional Combine ground beef, grated onion, salt, marjoram and pepper; mix well. Divide meat into six portions; shape into oval patties about 3/4 inch thick. Broil ground beef patties 3 inches from the heat for 4 to 5 minutes. Turn and broil 3 to 4 minutes longer for medium done meat. Remove patties to a hot platter. Meanwhile, prepare gravy mix according to package directions. Stir in mushrooms and wine. Heat through. Pour gravy over meat patties. Garnish with sprigs of parsley, if desired. Makes 6 servings. |
