ANGEL BISCUITS | |
5 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. sugar 1 c. Crisco 2 c. buttermilk or milk with 2 tbsp. vinegar 2 pkgs. dry yeast dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water Place ingredients in bowl in the order listed. Mix well with hands or wooden spoon. Work into a ball. Rub with oil and return to bowl. This dough can be stored in the refrigerator overnight. When ready to complete the biscuits, roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut with 1 1/2 - 2 inch biscuit cutter. Place on greased cookie sheet or biscuit pan. Let stand 10 to 15 minutes, then bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. |
