GRANDMA GOOT'S WHITE ANISE COOKIES | |
1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour 3/4 tsp. baking powder 1/3 c. butter, softened 1/2 c. sugar 2 lg. eggs 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. anise extract (to taste) Preheat oven to 350. Spray cookie sheets with vegetable spray or butter them. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, alternating with flour mixture. Add vanilla and beat until smooth. Spread onto prepared sheet, slightly rounded in middle. Bake for 15 minutes in 350 oven. ICING: 1 c. confectioners' sugar 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. anise extract Water Mix icing ingredients with water to achieve a glaze consistency. Spread on completely cooled cookie mound and then slice into small bars. |
