APPLE CHEESE STRUDEL 
PASTRY:

1 c. sweet butter
1/2 lb. cottage cheese
2 c. flour

FILLING:

2 c. pie apples
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. chopped peel
1/2 tsp. salt
Blanched almonds
1 egg, beaten

1. Mix the butter, cottage cheese and flour in a mixing bowl. Chill for 1/2 hour. Roll out to a large oblong (not too thin).

2. Mix apples with the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, peel and salt. Spread over pastry.

3. Glaze all edges of pastry with beaten egg. Tuck in ends of pastry and fold over. Brush top of roll with egg and sprinkle with chopped almonds.

4. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 30 to 45 minutes or until golden brown. Serves 6 to 8.
