1 pkg. dates, cut up fine & pitted
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. boiled water
Soak dates and let cool. 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 tbsp. cocoa 1 tsp. vanilla 1 3/4 c. flour, sifted 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 pkg. chocolate chips 1/2 c. walnuts, cut
When all is mixed use 9 x 13 inch greased pan. Put half of chips on first layer of cake batter. Follow with remaining batter. Now add the rest of the chips and cut walnuts. When cake is cooled, sprinkle powdered sugar on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
