ROAST CHICKEN 
1 whole chicken
4 potatoes, quartered
4 carrots, cut in 2-inch lengths
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 stick butter

Place 1 whole chicken (2-3 pounds) in a roasting pan, place vegetables around chicken. Add seasoning and cover with water. Place top on pan or cover with foil.
