2 1/2-3 c. flour 1 pkg. yeast 1/4 c. sugar 3/4 tsp. salt 1/4 c. soft butter 3/4 c. very hot water 1 egg Combine 1 cup flour, yeast, sugar and salt. Stir to blend. Add 1/4 cup butter. Add 3/4 cup hot water. All at once, beat 2 minutes. Add 1 egg and 1/2 cup flour. Beat 1 minute. Gradually add remaining flour until dough leaves side of bowl. Put on floured board and knead about 5 minutes. Cover and let sit for 20 minutes. Punch down and roll out into rectangle. Spread softened butter on dough then spread brown sugar over butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Roll up and cut 1/2 inch thick slices, place in baking dish with sides. Put wax paper on top and put in 9 x 13 inch pan and refrigerate from 2-48 hours. Remove from refrigerator and let set at room temperature for 10 minutes. Then bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes. SYRUP: 1 stick butter 1 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. light corn syrup Heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Pour into dish. |
