CHILI CON CARNE | |
2 lbs. ground beef 1 lg. onion, diced 1 garlic clove, minced 1/4 c. chili powder 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes 2 (15-19 oz.) cans red kidney beans, drained 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper In 5 quart saucepan over high heat, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic, stirring often, until all pan juices evaporate and beef is well browned. Stir in chili powder, salt and pepper, cook 1 minute. Stir in tomatoes with their liquid, kidney beans, and tomato sauce, over high heat, heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low, cover, simmer 30 minutes, stirring often. Makes 8 servings. |
