CHRISTMAS ROLL OUT COOKIES
1 c. butter (1/2 butter, 1/2 Crisco)
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
3 1/4 c. flour + 1 tbsp. more
1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream together butter, sugar and brown sugar. Beat eggs and add vanilla to the eggs. Add the eggs to the creamed mixture. Sift together the flour, cream of tartar and the soda. Blend 1/4 of the flour with the sugars and the eggs. Now alternate milk when adding the remainder of the flour to the creamed mixture. Roll out dough and cut into shapes. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes or until golden brown. Frost and decorate. Makes about 5+ dozen cookies. An old family recipe given to me by my grandmother, Anna Werning.
