DOUGHNUTS 
1 c. scalded milk
1 pkg. yeast
1 c. lukewarm water
1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
7 c. flour, more or less

Mix all ingredients with spoon. Let raise until double in bulk. Fry on oil at 400 to 450 until done.

Mix together 1 cup powdered sugar, 1/2 cup cold water and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Glaze over doughnuts while hot.
