1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. boiling water
3 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 heaping tbsp. cinnamon
1 c. nuts
1/2 c. raisins (optional)

Sift together flour, salt, cinnamon. Cream together butter, sugar and eggs well beaten. Combine dry ingredients with moist batter. Mix well. Add soda dissolved in 2 tablespoons boiling water and vanilla. Add nuts. Spoon teaspoon of dough onto cookie sheet, cook at 300 degrees.
