PINTO BEAN CASSEROLE 
1 to 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. cooked rice
1 (15 oz.) can pinto beans
1 1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese

Brown beef, onion, green pepper, and garlic. Blend in tomato sauce, chili powder, and salt. In greased 2 quart casserole, layer part of meat sauce, beans, half of cheese, and remainder of meat sauce. Top with other half cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
