ANISE COOKIES 
1/2 c. (1/4 lb.) butter
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. anisette extract
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1 egg

Cream butter; add sugar, anisette flavoring, egg, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Mix together. Add flour and mix well. Make balls and flatten with bottom of glass. Make criss-cross pattern with fork across cookie. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10 minutes in 350 degree oven. Cool and store in tight container.
