FRY BREAD | |
2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. powdered milk Mix top 4 ingredients all together. Add warm water to form a soft dough, but not sticky. Cover with a cloth and let stand for about 2 hours. Shape into ball about 2" across then flatten by patting with the hand until a small circle about 8" is formed or use rolling pin. Have about half inch of shortening in large fry pan. If it browns quickly but does not burn the grease is ready. Fry brown on both sides by turning over, the thinner the circle the crispier the bread. Good with powdered sugar on top. |
