KLINE'S OUTSTANDING OLD
FASHIONED BEEF STEW
 
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 lbs. beef stew meat, cut into pieces
6 c. hot water
3 pared med. potatoes, cut into cubes
1 med. turnip, cut into cubes

Dredge meat in flour and brown in shortening. Add water and vegetables and simmer 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender.

Thicken stew with 1 cup of cold water and 2-4 tablespoons of flour until blended. Stir into stew and heat to boiling stirring constantly.
