AUNT ELSIE'S LEMON MERINGUE PIE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. boiling water
5 tbsp. cornstarch or flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. Snowdrift, Crisco or butter
2 eggs
5 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. grated rind

Mix cornstarch, salt and sugar well. Add boiling water gradually. Cook, stirring constantly until thick. Then to double boiler 10 minutes or longer. Add butter, egg yolks, which have been beaten slightly. Add lemon juice and rind last. Pour into baked pie shell.
