1 1/2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 tbsp. milk 3/4 c. sifted confectioners' sugar 6 oz. pkg. chocolate bits Sift flour and salt. Blend butter, sugar and vanilla. Form into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Make depression in center of ball with thumb. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. While warm, roll in confectioners' sugar. Set aside. FILLING: 1 tbsp. shortening 3/4 (6 oz.) chocolate bits pkg. 2 tbsp. light corn syrup 1 tbsp. water 1 tsp. vanilla Melt chocolate bits and shortening over hot (NOT boiling) water. Stir in remaining ingredients until smooth. Let cool at least 5 minutes. Fill in dent in cookies. |
