LEMON BREAD 
1/2 c. softened butter
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. chopped nuts
1 lemon, save grated rind for cake & juice for glaze
1/4 c. white sugar

BREAD: Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and beat well. Add sifted flour, salt, baking powder (that had been sifted together) alternately with milk. Add nuts and lemon rind. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes.

GLAZE: Mix well the juice from lemon and 1/4 cup white sugar. When bread is almost done remove from oven and pour glaze over top. Return to oven for just a few more minutes.
